When Loic, LeWeb’s founder, talks about the conference, he explains his idea was to create an equivalent of events taking place in Silicon Valley, but in Europe -- in Paris. In other words, an American conference in Europe. Today, LeWeb is much more than an American or European conference, it’s a strong international conference. The over three thousand attendees come from more than 60 countries, (almost ⅓ of all the countries in the world). The chart beside shows you...

Damien Guinet was a well-known blogger in France before deciding to move to Montréal last year with his family. He had come regularly to LeWeb since the very first years, but in 2008 went with the idea that he may be leaving Paris soon. He had heard about Yulbiz, a group of international business bloggers that got together regularly, and he knew that they always got together right before LeWeb in Paris.  By meeting with a few fellow bloggers over a drink,...

Danil Kozyatnikov went from "a guy in the middle of nowhere in Siberia tweeting in the middle of the night" to LeWeb to Hackathon to TechCrunch Disrupt to funded in less than a year. How? By focusing on one step at a time, just like in the game he created, Quest.li. 1. Get a ticket  Danil had had the idea for Quest.li for awhile and had become a regular night owl, tweeting with "influencers" in the Silicon Valley to get their attention....

With over 3,000 people attending this year, you may be asking yourself, "How can I possibly stand out???" "I raised 55,000 € at LeWeb and am now launching another business" Benoît Laurent, a start-uper in 2008 that came to LeWeb to get himself - and his ideas - noticed . As a young entrepreneur, he knew that the entry fee seemed expensive, but it didn't matter. For Benoît LeWeb was THE place to be. He scraped everything he could...

Dean Whitbread has been to LeWeb four times - - but turned 2009's event into his own personal art experiment. He went to LeWeb not to be a businessman, but a businessman AND an artist, dressing one day in a business suit and the second day as a priest. This year, we can ALL be artists with Prix Mobile, the "Grand Prix" of Mobile Art that will be on display at LeWeb. It is a new, annual contest open to all. LeWeb isn't organizing it, but we're happy to...

For Pierre-Olivier Carles, the world is NOT flat. He could buy a ticket to go to the Silicon Valley to see one or two VCs, losing 2 days for travel, OR he can get the most out of LeWeb. For Carles, LeWeb offers "the best networking in the world". It's "a global reunion of everything web-related" where you can put names to faces, meet potential partners, and continue doing business with them afterwards. During the plenary and Eiffel Dock conferences,...
